Super Falcons head coach Edwin Okon, has said  that there will be no Easter celebrations for the players.
The senior women’s national team, is currently preparing for an international friendly match against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon on April 29 in Abuja.
Okon stated that none of the players will be released to their clubs for this weekend’s Nigeria Women Premier League games, as he was not willing to take any risks.
Gracious Akunjobi, The team’s media officer, quoted him as saying: “There will be no Easter break for any one of us. We shall all do the Easter on the pitch because we want to focus on the matches ahead of us. No player will be released to their clubs nor be allowed to go on any break.
“We would perhaps only go on break after the friendly match against Cameroon. We hope to use the Easter break to strategize and perfect plans for the matches ahead,” he said.
