Fresh from being named Best Goalkeeper in the French Ligue 1 and Nigerian Player of the Year, Super Eagles captain Vincent Enyeama is in line for the biggest prize of them all.

On Thursday, the Lille goalie will go up against holder Yaya Toure and Gabon's Pierre Emerick Aubameyang for the honour of being named African Player of the Year.

The trio made the cut following votes from Head Coaches or Technical Directors of the National Associations affiliated to CAF. Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan and Ahmed Musa of Nigeria failed to make the final list.

Enyeama was beaten to the post for the BBC version of the award by Algerian Yacine Ibrahim.

For the African Player of the Year (Based in Africa), Algerian duo, Akram Djahnit and El Hedi Belamieri are in contention with DR Congo forward Firmin Mubele Ndombe.
