Manu Garba says he has not joined Giwa FC

Under 17 World Cup-winning coach Manu Garba has refute reports that he has joined Giwa FC.

The Premier League club parted ways with former coach Aminu Musa earlier this week, and a tweet from a supposed club Twitter account claimed that not only had the coach been contracted, but was also introduced to the squad on Wednesday.

Manu told ColinUdoh.com that nothing was farther from the truth

"It is a false story. I have not joined any club," Garba said.

"When I got back from the Under 20 World Cup, a number of clubs got in touch to offer me a job. But I told them I could not take up their offer because I would only want to be in charge of a team from the beginning of the season where I can have a chance to prepare the players properly the way I want.

"When I was approached by Chris Giwa, I told hm the same thing and made it clear to him that if I had wanted to take a job in the middle of the season, I could have joined Pillars, Nasarawa, Kwara United and all the other clubs that approached me.

"He kept calling me and then he said even if I would not take the job, I should come and watch the team's training session and just give the boys some words of encouragement. That is all that happened."
