Mba, Oduamadi annoy Keshi

Brescia of Italy midfielder, Nnamdi Oduamadi, and France-based star, Sunday Mba, yesterday kept Coach Stephen Keshi and his staff waiting as the Super Eagles began training for the Brazil 2014 World Cup finals.

All the invited 30 players except for the duo had reported to camp ahead of the Nigeria and Scotland international friendly game tomorrow. The 28 players in camp trained at the Fulham FC training ground yesterday evening, according to information from Team Media Officer, Ben Alaiya.

Though Team Secretary, Dayo Achor, explained that Oduamadi and Mba had hitches with their travelling documents and were scheduled to make it to the team’s camp any time from now, Coach Keshi was reported to have frowned at the development.

However, the Eagles technical crew was happy with the entire squad’s response to arrival in camp and the camaraderie existing among the players. “It’s one big family here and this is the spirit we should carry to the World Cup,” goalkeeper and deputy captain, Vincent Enyeama, said.

The players were also reportedly very happy with the recall of team captain, Joseph Yobo, and Osaze Odemwingie.

“I am humbled and I pray that I will justify the confidence reposed in me,” Yobo said, while Osaze added that it is a family reunion that is bound to affect the fortunes of the team at the World Cup. “We will do our best in Brazil to justify this unity that we have in camp,” the Stoke City forward added
