Sudan v Nigeria MatchDay update

Stephen Keshi and his coaches are already out waiting for the players to come out


We are a few hours away from kickoff of Sudan v Nigeria. 

Updates will be here until FT.

Both sides are on the wrong end of the group table and need to win to get their qualification hopes bavk on track. 

This is the archetypical win or bust game. A draw does neither side any good.

Stephen Keshi has named the same team that played against South Africa. With just one change, Vincent Enyeama replaces Austin Ejide as captain and goalkeeper.

But if an argument going on after Sudanese officials refuse to allow the Super Eagles players not listed in the match day squad to sit in VIP. Instead, they are put in the stands.

Nigerians in VIP section offer to trade their seats for the players. Sudanese officials refuse, saying players not allowed in that section.

Match Commissioner fails to resolve the dispute, so Nigerians in the VIP section (including journalists), abandon their seats to go sit with players.

Emmanuel Ikpeme protests vehemently as Nigeria reserve players are sent to sit with fans
